Why become a foster carer?

Fostering is caring for children in your own home who are unable to live with their own families. Fostering a child is highly rewarding experience for anyone wanting to make a difference to the life of a child or young person.

People decide to foster for a variety of reasons.

Some Foster Carers want to continue caring for children after their own children have left home, or alongside their own children continuing to share their love and support to children in need.

Others may have never been parents before, but want to give love and care to our foster children who really need it.

We offer a generous support package for people who want to foster, so it can also be seen as an additional career and source of income.

Who can foster?

We need carers from all backgrounds that have the ability to meet the needs of children they carer for.

Foster caring is open to anyone who has a spare room and is willing to open their homes to our foster children and offer them the support they need in life.

It doesn't matter if you are a single person, LGBTQ or have a particular faith. We are always looking for people from all different walks of life and don't discriminate against age, race, gender or faith. Waltham Forest are members of New Family Social.
